CIBN swears in Segun Ajibola as new president

Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) at the weekend sworn in Segun Ajibola as the new president and chairman of council following the retirement of Debola Osibogun, the immediate past president.

The new president said his regime would focus on capacity building, certification, codification, constructive engagements, communication, creativity, and consolidation.

The institute will continue to enter into agreement with its universities, polytechnics on B.Sc./ACIB and HND/ACIB programmes and will exploit the newly introduced M.Sc./ACIB with more and more universities, Ajibola said.

According to Ajibola, the regime will further the discussion on HND/B.Sc/ACIB route with the relevant bodies to cater for the research-inclined members of the Institute who are HND holders. The route, he said, when floated, will enable HND holders to spend the statutory minimum period in a university to earn a first degree as well as ACIB, and then pursue postgraduate academic qualifications subsequently.

“This regime will therefore set in motion plans for upgrading the physical state of the library (relocation as an option?), and provide facilities that would serve our various stakeholders in this time and age,” he said.
