The Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Nnamdi Okonkwo, was arrested in April by the EFCC for allegedly receiving $115m from the Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, during the build-up to the 2015 presidential election. It was gathered that the money was disbursed to bribe electoral officials and groups.
However, he has been rearrested over the discovery of another $153m laundered through the bank by Diezani Alison-Madueke, for the purpose of rigging the 2015 elections in favor of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
