Insurance and pension experts will be addressing issues on life annuity under the Contributory Pension Scheme, in view of its impact on the stakeholders.
A statement from the Managing Director, BusinessToday, Nkechi Naeche, said the professionals would be discussing the issues during its annual award programme for the pension and insurance industries.
She stated, “Experts from insurance and pension sectors will be on hand to look at ways the new annuity fund arrangement set by both the National Pension Commission and National Insurance Commission will affect insurers.”
According to the statement, the theme paper, ‘The current annuity fund arrangement: A threat or blessing to insurers?’, will be presented by both the Group Managing Director, Royal Exchange Plc, Alhaji Auwalu Muktari, and a former Director-General, Lagos State Pension Commission, Mr. Adekunle Hussain.
She said that the event would be chaired by the Managing Director, YorkCity Consult Limited, Mrs, Tonia Smart; and that the Lagos State Commissioner for Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, Dr. Akintola Oke, would be the special guest of honour.
Naeche said discussants were drawn from NAICOM, Nigerian Insurers Association, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria.
