How N-Power N-Teach Volunteers Will Be Promoted To Permanent Staff – It is good news for N-power-Teach beneficiaries in Anambra state as the state government is said to be weighing the option of converting them to permanent teachers in secondary schools in the state – When will NPower 2019 Recruitment Start? Find out here!

Recruitment is ongoing into the state’s Universal Basic Education and Post Primary School categories.

According a source who pleaded anonymity, education officials in the state were considering possible conversion of N-Teach volunteers into permanent staff in the state civil service.

“There is strong indication that existing N-Power teacher volunteers will be given priority attention in the ongoing teachers recruitment exercise in the state”, the source who is N-Teach beneficiary in Awka told CNR Nigeria.

When asked to give details of the ‘indication’, the source said he was not authorized to speak on this issue.

“Look, what I told you is all I can say for now. I am not authorized to make a public statement on this matter. I got my information from the right quarters. The state is currently recruiting teachers into primary and secondary schools in the state. It is commonsense that they would like to retain beneficiaries who have been trained on the job and now have the requisite experience to perform.

Asked if the beneficiaries will be subjected to the ‘normal’ recruitment process like others who are not beneficiaries, the source said “I cannot say for now but I think that part of the plan is that they must pass through the process but will have the advantage of work experience when final selection is made.

“What that means is that the beneficiary is expected to have applied for the job when the recruitment was advertised, even if their names is to be forwarded for any special consideration”, the source explained.

“When this plan is hatched, it would bring a huge relief to N-teach beneficiaries in Anambra and of course, it would be an answer to their request for permanency in the state civil service, he added.

Recall that beneficiaries of the federal government social investment programme, Npower, in Anambra state had in the buildup to the November 2017 governorship election in Anambra pleaded with the state governor, Willie Obiano to convert them to permanent staff in the state civil service at the end of their stay in the programme.
