First Bank of Nigeria Limited has said that its direct-to-account remittance services are currently down. This makes it a little harder for customers to get good service on the WorldRemit and Ria systems.
The Nigerian lender said this was because of “routine maintenance on the WorldRemit and Ria bank deposit platforms.”
In an email to customers on Tuesday, however, the bank said that its “maintenance team is working hard to get service back up and running as soon as possible.”
It told them to “use the cash pickup service option to send money” until the maintenance was done and the full services were back.
“We are doing standard maintenance on the WorldRemit and Ria bank deposit platforms right now so that we can serve you better. This may cause the system to go down for a short time. Our repair team is working hard to get service back up and running as soon as possible.
Financial Watch saw a short message that said, “Senders can use the cash pickup service to send money to their recipients while maintenance is going on.”
