First Bank of Nigeria Limited says it has won ‘The Best Retail Bank in Nigeria’ for the fifth time.
The lender said it also won ‘The Mobile Payment Product of the Year’ and ‘The Credit Card Product of the Year ” at the 2016 Asian Banker Retail Services West African Awards held in Lagos on Friday.
Organised by Asian Banker magazine, the awards programme is meant to recognise competition and innovation in the global banking sector, according to the bank.
In a statement by FirstBank, Asian Banker said the lender had continued to dominate the retail space, with over 40 per cent of the market share in retail customer deposits.
The Deputy Managing Director, FirstBank, Mr. Gbenga Shobo, who received the award on behalf of the lender, said the awards were a testament to the effectiveness of the bank’s programmes aimed at raising the bar in delivering unique retail financial products to all levels of customers.
“FirstBank has in place a robust retail banking strategy that enables us to review our retail products and processes to ensure that the needs and lifestyles of customers are met,” he said.
